Excerpt from the sleeve:
Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was one of the architects and designer who – with designers such as Poul Henningsen, Hans J Wegner, Finn Juhl, Børge Mogensen, Verner Panton and Poul Kjærholm – made Danish Design world famous.
This book follows Arne Jacobsen from the early years. I starts with a dream about The House of the Future and about new ways of living and working. It ends nearly two generations later with major buildings in Denmark Germany and England where buildings, gardening, furnishings and lighting, create a feeling of wholeness and identity so rare in today’s world.
The book gives an insight into both of these processes through interviews with industrialists, technicians, model makers and clients for the big building projects, as well as with architects and designers who worked for Arne Jacobsen.
