Yellow sconce by Bent Karlby for LYFA in 1968-69. Danish Modern aluminum and yellow wall light in excellent vintage condition
PAN-OPTICON – an elegant Danish Modern sconce designed by Bent Karlby in 1968-1969 and produced by LYFA – aluminum wall lamp with yellow inner in excellent vintage condition.
The PAN-OPTICON is made up of a long narrow aluminum ‘pan-flute’ piece with a rounded aluminum cover in front and a matte yellow inside. The aluminum cover conceals the two light bulbs in the center of pan-flute, but is also able to be moved up and down enabling you to adjust the flow of light to suit your needs.
When lit, the emitted light is guided both upwards and downwards along the pan-flute shape, and creates a beautiful pattern of light onto the wall right above and below the sconce. The yellow inside adds warmth and softness to the ambiance. An exceptional vintage collectible addition to any space!
All original incl. wall mounting, but rewired with 1,5 m (4′ 11.1″) white plastic cord – for safety and beauty – and fitted with on/off switch placed at convenient height at the cord and Euro style plug – which is easily changed to your specific plug. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective plastic cover.
