MILK GLASS LAMP
Gorgeous milky white pendant light with hand-painted orange stripes by VOSS (presumed) in the early 1950s, in very good vintage condition
MILK GLASS pendant light with orange stripes by VOSS (presumed) in the early 1950s – gorgeous milky white glass lamp with delicate orange stripes, in very good vintage condition.
This 1950s hanging lamp is made up of a milky white glass shade with a cone shaped lower half and a smaller pyramid shaped upper half. The lower half is decorated with a harlequin inspired pattern of hand-painted orange triangles and stripes. The upper half are closed off by a plastic cap, whereas the bottom is kept open.
When lit, the open bottom ensures plenty of downward directed flow of light, and the milk glass diffuses the light, emitting is softly outwards and up. The striped pattern adds warmth to ambiance and gives the lamp a refined expression. It would be a beautiful addition to a modern kitchen or dining table or perhaps welcoming guests in a hallway.
All original parts, but rewired with 2 m (6′ 7″) high end quality, white fabric cord – for safety and beauty. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag.
