Model 3103 Chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1957 – Danish mid-century dining chair with professionally restored lacquered seat, in excellent vintage condition
We have 3 original vintage T-chairs, fully restored and re-lacquered in a silk semi-gloss black finish (the original Fritz Hansen black) – done by the premiere furniture lacquering company in Denmark – so essentially you will be getting a vintage black T-chair, that look brand new : )
The 3103 or T-chair is, like its predecessors the Ant chair and series 7 chair, a pressure molded veneer shell with a slim-line organic shape and contoured seat form, fitted on four legged tubular steel frame with polished-chrome finish.
Arne Jacobsen designed the T-chair in 1957 in collaboration with the Danish M.D. (Egill Snorrason), who had criticized the previous models for their lack of lumbar support – the result is a more upright seating position and better lumbar support, which in all gives an incredible seating comfort. The T-chair only remained in production at Fritz Hansen until the late 1960s, but was put back into production for a short period in the early 1980s.
With its simple, understated and elegant shape, the T-chair, or the Hammer chair, which it is also referred as, is a timeless design piece – just as modern today as the day it was designed – and it would fit anywhere in the modern home – in the dining room, the kitchen, the office space or just as a Danish mid century modern design piece on display.
We have 3 vintage T-chairs for sale, all with professionally restored black lacquered seats, and minimal signs of usage and age on the frame, and all chairs are fitted with new black original shoes. Fritz Hansen cup on each chair. Please see the photos!
Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective materials, disassembled with the seat and legs separate for safety in transport and less costly shipping.
