WALL RELIEF by Dantoft Kunstartikler, Denmark circa 1960s. Beautiful black wrought iron wall sculpture with green glass pieces in good vintage condition.
Black lacquered, welded wrought iron in the shape of a sun with a heart of polished deep green glass stone. The glass stone is placed in a shallow bowl which extends in eight directions. Four of the arms ends in circles, each with a smaller polished red glass piece inside, and the last four arms ends in a spiked diamond shape.
The glass pieces are carefully placed, so the daylight is reflected in the glass stones, and creates shadows along the eight arms of the sun. A beautiful wall sculpture that would look amazing at the end of a long hall way or a vintage addition living space. The combination of color and shapes are sure to catch positive attention from your guests!
This wall relief was made by Dantoft, a company that had their heyday in the 1960s and 1970s. Dantoft designed wall sculptures in many different forms and shapes, some as candle holders where the bottom has a shallow bowl for a candle holder. One theme connected all the wall sculptures; carefully arranged glass pieces – so light would be reflected in the many colorful glass pieces.
