Detailed information

SOHOLM EJ64 – set of three pieces by Einar Johansen as part of the blue series for Søholm in 1964 – gorgeous blue and black glazed stoneware set of dish, bowl and candle holder, all in excellent vintage condition.

This lot features a rectangular dish, a square bowl and a curvy candle holder, all from the same series, called EJ64 or the Blue Series by Einar Johansen. The series was the first ever home decor stoneware series produced at Soholm and became one of their greatest selling successes.

Each piece is decorated with repetitively triangular shapes and covered with a wonderful blue toned glazed, designed by Svend Aage Jensen. The blue glaze spans over dark blue to light blue with hints of the underlying brown, almost golden tones. The backside of the dish and the bowl is covered with sandy matte black finish, which makes for beautiful contrast to the glossy glaze. The same black finish is placed along the broad rim on the candle holder as well as underneath the holder.

Hallmarked underneath with the Soholm logo and their design-numbers – the dish is numbered 3332-1, the bowl is numbered 3335 and the candle holder is numbered 3339.

A beautiful set of stoneware with a captivating glaze that would add a burst of color and style no matter where you would use them – as kitchen or dinnerware, or as display pieces either in a cluster or individually places in the living room.

Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag.
