Wrought iron sconce by Dantoft Kunstartikler in the 1970s. Decorative black wrought iron candle holder with orange tile
SCONCE, wrought iron candle holder by Dantoft Kunstartikler, Denmark circa 1970s. Sculptural sconce in black wrought iron with an orange tile, in very good vintage condition.
A unique artisan sconce, made in curved black lacquered, welded wrought iron and an orange tile in the middle. Towards the sides the wrought iron is bent into swirls, surrounding the orange tile. At the bottom there is a shallow candle holder – fits a large candle for up to 3″ (7,5 cm) in width.
The glossy orange tile gives a beautiful contrast to the black wrought iron, while a flickering candlelight will create shadows along the iron swirls. A true vintage addition to any modern decor – and is sure to catch positive attention from your guests!
The wall sconce is made by Dantoft, a company that had their heyday in the 1960s and 1970s. Dantoft designed wall sculptures in many different forms and shapes, some as candle holders and some as wall sculptures with shallow candle holder at the bottom. One theme connected all the wall sculptures; carefully arranged glass pieces – so light would be reflected in the many colorful glass pieces.
