Wrought iron piece by Dantoft Kunstartikler, 1970s. Decorative black wrought iron candle holder with glass stone
SCONCE wrought iron candle holder by Dantoft Kunstartikler, Denmark circa 1970s. Sculptural sconce in black wrought iron with a light amber colored glass stone in very good vintage condition.
A unique artisan sconce made in curved black lacquered, welded wrought iron and a light amber thick glass round stone in the middle. Towards the side the wrought iron is bent into swirls, whereas above and under the glass stone, the long spire features a circular shaped and a butterfly shaped piece. At the bottom there is a shallow candle holder – fits a large candle for up to 3″ (7,5 cm) in width.
The light amber polished glass stone in the middle are placed to reflect the flickering candlelight and thus creating shadows to the surrounding wall. A true vintage addition to any modern decor – and is sure to catch positive attention from your guests!
The wall sconce is made by Dantoft, a company that had their heyday in the 1960s and 1970s. Dantoft designed wall sculptures in many different forms and shapes, some as candle holders and some as wall sculptures with shallow candle holder at the bottom. One theme connected all the wall sculptures; carefully arranged glass pieces – so light would be reflected in the many colorful glass pieces.
Please note, that I have a small number of different wall sconces by Dantoft in my shop – please check the shop!
