Blown glass and sterling silver by E. Dragsted & Holmgaard in 1951. Beautiful vintage etched glass jam jar with sterling silver lid in excellent vintage condition
MARMALADE JAR by E. Dragsted & Holmegaard in 1951 – beautiful vintage etched glass jam jar with sterling silver lid in excellent vintage condition.
A beautiful marmalade jar, made of blown glass with vertical hand-etched stripes, and a slightly curved sterling silver lid with a stylish handle on top. The delicate etched stripes, the fruit-like shape and the contrast of the shiny silver and clear glass, gives this jar a very stylish and modern expression.
This jam jar with a touch of Art Deco was produced in 1951 by E. Dragsted in collaboration with Holmegaard Glassworks and it is hallmarked underneath the lid with E. Dragsted logo, tree towers (to indicate quality silver) and 51 underneath the towers (to indicate the production year), 830-S and the number 7.
Stylish piece that would suit any table setting with its unintrusive, yet very classic expression and subtle details, like the lines on the glass echoed on the handle – a truly beautiful piece.
