Vintage Danish red enameled coffee pot by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Designs in 1955 – rare 1st edition – in very good vintage condition
KOBENSTYLE COFFEE POT by Jens H. Quistgaard for Dansk Designs in 1955 – super rare 1st-edition red enameled coffee pot with cane wrapped handle in very good vintage condition.
A very stylish enameled steel coffee pot with a tall slightly hour-glass shaped body, a charming spout, a cane wrapped curved handle and distinctive cross-handle lid. The outer is glossy bright red, while the inside is coated white. Underneath it is stamped with the first logo of Dansk Designs, which identifies it as a first edition.
Jens H. Quistgaard designed the Købenstyle cookware in 1955. The name refers to the Danish name Københavnerstil (Copenhagen style), as they wanted to imply that this was Danish style from Copenhagen. The Købenstyle series consisted of a wide range of products, in four different colored enamel; turquoise, yellow, light green and red. The light green was only kept in production shortly, while the three other colors remained in production until 1985. In 1971 two additional color options were introduced: white or black.
With its extremely appealing silhouette and understated elegance, this KOBENTSYLE COFFEE POT has a timeless expression that suits both vintage and modern dining table settings. When not in use, this beauty makes for a lovely Danish mid century display piece.
