ABO Randers A/S was a small lighting company, situated in Aalestrup, near Randers, in Jutland. It was founded in the late 1960s, and mainly based on one product idea – the successful Ball magnet wall lamp, originally designed by Benny Frandsen. The genius of this light is the magnet, which holds the lamp in place, and allows for easy adjustment of direction of the light. The light was a great success up through the 1970s and early 1980s – and today is produced by Frandsen Lighting.
Throughout the 70s ABO Randers expanded their production line with a significant number of other lighting designs. In the middle of the 1980s, ABO Randers was bought by Lyskær Belysning.
