Svend Aage Holm Sørensen was a Danish designer, who designed lights for Fog & Mørup in the 1950s. In the mid 1950s he founded Holm Sørensen & Co. The lighting production started with desk lights, but Sven Aage Holm Sørensen invented his own special type of brass. He used this to create very sculptural light, up through the 1960s. The metal was often burned, and cut with rustic edges and surfaces.
He also made a number of colored glass wall lamps. Today, it is especially his 50s lamps that are rare and in very high demand among vintage collectors.
Bonusinfo: He participated in the Olympics Games in Berlin in 1936 in the dicspline of Rowing, Coxed Four, but came in last, in the final.
