The Danish sculptor Christian Thomsen was employed at Royal Copenhagen from 1898 to his death in 1921.
During which period he created more than 100 figurines (he had a fondness for agricultural characters, children figurines, animals figurines and figurines inspired by the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen, fauns and trolls. In addition, he modeled vases, and more than 36 Christmas and commemorative plates. Christian Thomsen created the first Danish Christmas plate in 1908.
Today Christian Thomsen is considered to be one of the most influential sculptors employed at royal Copenhagen in the 20th century.
