About the design

Zone is designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup in 1969.

A conical shaped pendant with the classic Jo Hammerborg band encircling the middle. The shade features white inner coating for optimal reflection of the light, while the band reflects light onto the conical shade when the lamp is lit. The wide opening towards the bottom ensures a good downward directed light distribution.

In 1969 F&M introduced a new colorful line, which featured three existing lamp designs offered in vibrant full colored versions and one new lighting design; the ZONE by Jo Hammmerborg. The Rainbow Line was produced in red, blue, white and yellow.

Bonus info: Fog & Mørup’s Rainbow Line is contemporary with Louis Poulsen’s Young Line, which in a similar fashion re-introduced existing designs in new bright colors. Amongst these Jørn Utzon’s NAVY PENDANT and Verner Panton’s FLOWER POT and TOPAN.
F&M followed up with the White Line, in opposition to Rainbow Line marketed as “Attractive, simple lights that can be used in almost any interior, irrespective of color key or materials”.
