About the design

Type 5202 is a square-shaped acid-treated brass wall sconces from the 1960s by Svend Aage Holm Sorensen.

Four serrated brass plates, carefully arranged in squares on top of each other – all parts acid and flame treated in Holm Sorensen’s special process (this is his signature), bringing out a wondrous specter of colors.

The bulb mount is placed on the wall mounting, which is mounted by to the wall with a single screw or hook. The square-shaped plate is then placed on the wall mounting, leaving the bulb in the center of the lamp – giving way for a softly diffused warm light reflected to the wall, upwards and downwards.

The pattern of light these sculptural sconces creates, could be gorgeous as wall lighting in a hall way, a sitting/reading area, and in the living room.
