About the design

Sakura is a large blown glass table lamp by Michael Bang in 1980 for Holmegaard Glassworks.

It is made up of milky white blown glass with colored swirls and a polished aluminum top which ends in the bulb socket. The combination of the milky white and delicately colored swirls gives this lamp stand a very light stylish expression.

Sakura was designed in 1980 by Michael Bang for Holmegaard, and were released with two different shaped bodies – an oval shaped body or a round shaped body – both in two sizes, which all were available with different colored swirls – blue, gray and rose swirls on the milky white blown glass.

The version on the photos is the large round Sakura with rose swirls and hints of earthy tones.
