About the design

Orrefors Chandelier is large crystal glass ceiling flush light, produced by LYFA/Orrefors in the late 1950s, and most likely designed by Carl Fagerlund, who is famous, and celebrated, for his amazing crystal lights.

It is a beautiful large crystal chandelier, comprised of a large crystal glass bowl with a thick heavy crystal glass bowl inside, stabilized and held in placed by a polished brass stem, covered with a clear crystal piece and a polished brass knob underneath the large outer crystal bowl. The brass stem acts as the center of the fixture, as it holds 3 bulb sockets, while also piercing and securing the two crystal glass bowls. The hole in each of the crystal bowls (where the stem pierces them) is protected by polished brass plates on each side of the crystal bowl.

The larger outer crystal bowl is decorated with a checkered pattern of frosted and clear lines, and features a curvy rim, while the thick inner crystal bowl is decorated with an embossed wavy pattern of amber and clear lines, and a wavy rim. The inner crystal bowl scatters the light, and ensures a warm ambiance, while the outer crystal bowl provides a soft illumination with plenty of upward directed light, but also plenty of light downwards and towards the sides.
