About the design

The No. 6259C is a pottery table lamp, designed by the German ceramicist Marianne Starck in the 1960s and produced by Danish Michael Andersen & Søn.

Recognized by its hexagonal shaped base and tapered neck. Each of the six sides of the base is emphasized by a sand colored glaze, while the rest of the lamp stand is decorated with a dark brown speckled glaze. Underneath marked 6259 and hallmarked with the stamp of Michael Andersen & Søn (three fish inside a triangle). It still carries the sticker with Michael Andersen & Søn logo on the neck near the top.

The brown hessian shade shown on the photos is not original to the No. 6259C lamp stand.
