About the design

The No. 6197 table lamp is designed by Marianne Starck in the 1960s and produced by Danish Michael Andersen & Søn.

It is a charming ceramic table lamp with a square shaped base and tall narrowing neck. The neck is covered with a white matte glaze going onto the top of the base, while the rest of the base is covered with a chocolate brown matte glaze – except for a single broad stripe on each of the four sides. The strips are covered with the same white glaze as the neck, and each decorated with three chocolate brown circles.

Underneath marked 6197, hallmarked with the stamp of Michael Andersen & Søn (three fish inside a triangle), signed MS for Marianne Starck.
