About the design

This sculptural brown glazed wall lamp is produced Danish AXELLA Design in the 1970s.

A medium sized artistic piece of pottery in brown tones and burst of white with a smooth, matte finish. It is made up of two tier circles, one smaller than the other. The larger circle features dark brown nuances with white towards the center, resembling a flower. On top lies the smaller circle, which features light brown nuances in a spiral like pattern, turning dark brown towards to center and a brass knob in the middle.

The light escapes between a small distance between the two circles, and creates an illusion of a floating circle in front of a large sun – which makes this wall lamp more than just a lamp – it is a piece of functional art, that looks amazing alight as well as idle!

The light is stamped AXELLA Stentøj, Made in Denmark and numbered 1102.
