About the design

Kvadrille – wall lamp designed by Bent Karlby in 1969 and produced by LYFA.

A raised square in thick yellowish hard plastic and a center of layered metal squares, colored white, blue, red and black. The bulb mount is concealed behind the layered metal squares inside the thick plastic square, which act as wall mounting.

Originally advertised as a light relief for use in bookcases, shelving, on tables or walls, as Bent Karlby had designed a genius (wall) mounting – you are able to hang it on the wall and create a beautiful light sculpture or place it on a table, as the mounting features a small base which enable the lamp to stand steady on a table or a shelf.

When lit, the light is emitted through the space between the many layers of squares, making them radiate soft warm light around it – an exceptional vintage collectible addition to any space!
