About the design
The Junior is a reading lamp designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup in 1960s.
This reading lamp is comprised of a solid round white lacquered base, a white lacquered arm and a shade, made in white lacquered aluminum. The upper part of the shade features the Hammerborg signature peepholes at the top and a on/off switch on the side.
The shade is adjustable both upwards and downwards (for widening and narrowing the illumination), and rotates almost 180 degrees to each side, enabling you to direct the light to where it is needed. When lit, the light is emitted up through the narrow space between the upper and lower part of the shade, and downwards through the open bottom.
Jo Hammerborg designed the Junior in the 1960s in different colors, but this white version was re-introduced around 1970 as part of the White Line by Fog & Mørup; an all white Series with old and new lighting pieces. With the same style and features as the larger Studio floor lamp, just a bit shorter, the Junior is the perfect reading lamp – perfect height for standing behind a comfortable easy chair while the adjustable head offers enough illumination for reading in the direction you need.
White and stylish, this Junior could easily fit in anywhere in the modern home, being a beautiful addition in the living room near a sitting area, a bedside light in the bedroom or even a stylish floor lamp in an office. The possibilities are numerous with this beauty!
