About the design
This glass wall light is produced at Hassel & Teudt in the 1960s.
It is a beautiful wall lamp, made up of hand molded glass rods, layered and arranged in a rectangular design and mounted on a brass lacquered wall bracket. The glass ‘shade’ slides onto the wall mounting, and conceals the bulb socket, placed on the mounting.
Each of the hand molded glass rods have a rich amber color and is slightly textured, which gives a beautiful effect when lit. The amber glass softens the ambiance, and creates a warm light, while the open top and bottom creates beams of light above and below the lamp.
This wall lamp is part of a Series, called HT RUSTIK, featuring different arrangements of the rich amber hand molded glass rods mounted on brass lacquered wall bracket. They were produced by Hassel & Teudt, a Danish gas and plumbing company, who mainly produced large scale electrical lighting, such as the first electric lighting system in Copenhagen around 1892, and supplied the wiring, when all of Copenhagen installed gas lighting around 1853. The HT RUSTIK Series was lighting for private homes, and consisted of wall lights and pendants.
