About the design

The Harlekin is designed by Lars Schioler for Hoyrup Light around 1970.

It is an attractive pendant, cast in white plastic and folded to form a diamond-like shape. On the sides it features colored diamond shaped pieces, cast in hard plastic. Inside it conceals a clear plastic tube in which the bulb socket is placed. The thin plastic creates a soft diffused lighter in the tone when lit, and the plastic diamonds turns light and soften the ambiance. Open towards the top and bottom, which gives way for upward and downwards directed light – perfect for hanging over a dining table or kitchen table.

The Harlekin was introduced for the first time in the 2nd catalogue of Hoyrup Light from 1970, and offered in white with four different colored diamonds; yellow, red, purple, gray or blue.
