About the design
Flower lamp – RS 25 – designed by Poul Cadovius in 1968 and produced by HF Belysning for Royal System a/s.
Two shallow aluminum halves, together forming a sphere shape with space for a small flower or plant in the middle. The bottom acts as a suspended pot for the flower, while the upper half holds the bulb mount.
Poul Cadovius designed this beautiful light fixture in 1968 as an accessory for his now world famous Royal System – the world’s first wall-mounted modular shelving system, designed 20 years earlier, in 1948.
The Flower lamp was produced by HF Belysning in aluminum as well as copper finishes, and were available in three sizes; RS 25 (9.8″ / 25 cm in diameter), RS 37 (14.6″ / 37 cm in diameter) and RS 50 (19.7″ / 50 cm in diameter).
Excerpt from an included booklet in the original box:
“With natural or artificial flowers in your flower lamp you will create an atmosphere of coziness and attractiveness”.
The true beauty emerges when lit – illuminating the flower, and creating a super cozy and decorative light effect in any room.
