About the design
This is a large hanging lamp by Danish JEKA from the early 1980s. It is not designed by Sven Middelboe, as many mistakenly think.
It is comprised of eight circular metal shades with white lacquered finish, separated by white lacquered metal ‘spacers’ to give way for emitted light to escape through, and guided in a slightly downward direction. Between the two upper shades, it features a small white grid, allowing light to be reflected onto the underside of the top-shade, while the open bottom protects from direct glare as well as provides a good flow of downward directed light.
It gives a good room illumination with plenty of downward directed light, making it perfect a smaller kitchen table, or a smaller dining table. It could also be a beautiful addition to a stair case or entry way.
