About the design

ASKEPOT (means Cinderella in Danish) is designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup in 1976-77.

This bell shaped pendant light is an unusual Hammerborg Design without any of his famous trademarks; the elongated peepholes and the encircled band like the Saturn, the Corona or the Juno. Nonetheless this piece is designed by Hammerborg around 1976-77. It features a subtly textured matte gray, almost grainy finish (resembling cast iron) outer shade with a matte aluminum finish inside. On top sits a cylinder shaped glossy red cap.

The contrast of the dark grainy shade and the bright glossy cap gives this pendant personality and an almost industrial look, thus making it perfect in a modern kitchen adding color and a industrial touch. Or in the living room over a medium sized dining table setting.

A add from 1977 ran as follow: Askepot (Cinderella) is an exciting, untraditional lamp novelty with a rustic effect. The cast-iron-looking surface in connections with the red top gives this fixture a special appeal.
