About the design

A wall relief produced by Dantoft Kunstartikler, Denmark circa 1960s.

It is made of black lacquered, welded wrought iron in the shape of a sun with a heart of polished deep green glass stone. The glass stone is placed in a shallow bowl which extends in eight directions. Four of the arms ends in circles, each with a smaller polished red glass piece inside, and the last four arms ends in a spiked diamond shape.

The glass pieces are carefully placed, so the daylight is reflected in the glass stones, and creates shadows along the eight arms of the sun.
