About the design

Silver plate candle holder by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Design in 1960s. Classic simple Quistgaard design.

Polished silver plate candle holder with a curved base and a tiny taper, extended from the solid base – resembling an onion with its top still on (in Denmark the candle holders are called “silver onion”). The solid base creates the possibility to positioned upright or slightly tilted to one side.

Modern and intriguing candle holder that oozes classic Danish Mid-century design. It would be an attractive design piece on any credenza or coffee table, creating a gorgeous flickering light with the special tiny tapers – either as the pair or in a cluster of candle holders.

Hallmarked IHQ (Jens Harald Quistgaard), Dansk Design and Made in Denmark.
