About the design

Sconce by Dantoft Kunstartikler, Denmark circa 1970s. Sculptural sconce in black wrought iron with a blue glass stone.

A unique sconce made in curved black lacquered, welded wrought iron and a deep blue thick glass square shaped stone in the middle. Above and under the glass stone, the sconce is decorated with a round, slightly concave black plate. Five vertical black wrought iron strips ends in small swirls towards the top and the bottom, while the two horizontal strips ends in swirls towards the sides. At the bottom there is a shallow candle holder – fits a large candle for up to 3″ (7,5 cm) in width and features a small ribbed collar.

The deep-blue polished glass stone in the middle are placed to reflect the flickering candlelight and thus creating shadows to the surrounding wall.
