Red table lamp by Einar Johansen for Soholm in the 1960s. Gorgeous red glazed pottery lamp stand with shade included
RED TABLE LAMP, No 1080-2 by Einar Johansen for Søholm Stentøj in the 1960s – gorgeous rich red glazed pottery lamp stand with cream white fabric shade included, all in excellent vintage condition.
This is a quite unusual Einar Johansen piece – not in blue nuances as the majority of his table lamps, but glazed with a beautiful deep red color with hints of black. The short wide body and the narrowing neck is kept smooth to really show the beautiful color, where as the only decoration is placed between the body and neck, emphasized by an almost black nuance in the glaze.
The white fabric shade shown on the photos is included, but not original to the lamp stand. It compliment the deep red color, making this a captivating lamp stand, perfect to accent a special area. With its sleek lines, subtle decorative black pattern, beautiful deep red color and the classic white shade, it would also look amazing on a nightstand or on a lamp table near a corner.
A piece designed by by Einar Johansen, who designed several lights for Søholm in the period 1958-1968. Underneath hallmarked EJ for Einar Johansen and numbered 1080-2.
