KVADRILLE
Wall lamp by Bent Karlby for LYFA in 1969. Beautiful Scandinavian Modern square sconce or light relief
Detailed information
KVADRILLE, wall lamp designed by Bent Karlby in 1969 and produced by LYFA – a beautiful Scandinavian Modern sconce or light relief in good vintage condition!
A square shaped sconce with raised rim, cast in thick yellowish hard plastic, and an indentation in the middle. On top of this indentation sits a center of layered metal squares in white, blue, red and black. Behind the layered metal square sits the bulb socket, placed in the bottom of the indentation.
When lit, the light is emitted through the space between the layered metal squares and radiates soft warm light around it – an exceptional Danish design piece that suits any space!
Originally advertised as a light relief for use in bookcases, shelving, on tables or walls, as Bent Karlby had designed a genius (wall) mounting – you are able to hang it on the wall and create a beautiful light sculpture or place it on a table, as the mounting features a small base which enable the lamp to stand steady on a table or a shelf.
All original, but rewired with 1,5 m (4′ 11.1″) plastic plastic cord, fitted with on/off switch placed at convenient height at the cord and fitted with Euro style plug – which is easily changed to your specific plug. Tested and fully functional.
Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag.
