Detailed information

LARGE ROSEWOOD COFFEE TABLE by Severin Hansen Jr. for Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in the late 1950s - minimalist Danish mid century modern coffee table in very good condition!

This is the largest version, measuring 70.9" / 180 cm in length!

A gorgeous large rosewood coffee table that oozes craftsmanship - a long rosewood table top, rich in color and swirling grains of the rosewood, and fitted on four tapered legs. The ultra-minimalist design of this piece truly makes the details stand out, like the corner joints and tapered legs, signature details of Severin Hansen Jr.

The Danish furniture designer Severin Hansen Jr. is widely celebrated for his classic Danish mid century modern table and desk designs, characterized by angular silhouettes with perfect corners, tapered legs and high joinery and materials. His tables were produced almost exclusively in rosewood or mahogany, and a small number in teak.

An attractive piece and a fine example of 1960s Danish design, that would make a gorgeous addition to any setting area. Its length (70.9" / 180 cm) provides this coffee table endless uses.

The unintrusive, yet captivating design and the rich rosewood color makes for true timeless piece.

Cleaned, treated with Vaseline oil and wrapped in protective foam.

Condition - Few superficial marks (ie. scratches, dents, marks, chips, cracks or the likes). Very few signs of age and usage.

Few signs of usage and age. There is one very small chip on the table top (seen on photo 4) and one brown spot (burn mark) on the table top. The previous owner much unfortunately has used a screw at one of the inside corners where the table top and leg meet (seen on photo 5) – not seen when in use, and does not affect function (table is fully stable) – but it is not the artisan way to fix this! Price is set accordingly. Please see photos!
