About the design
Søværnspendel (Navy Pendant) designed by Søværnets Bygningsdistrikt (The Navy Building Department).
The bulb is suspended in the center, allowing the light to emit in three directions from the shades; outwards, directed downward, and upwards from the top.
Nordisk Solar Compagni were the originally producer of this light, followed by the better known Louis Poulsen version. The Louis Poulsen Navy Pendant was discontinued in the 1980s – but is now back in production under a new name – the Doo-Wop, and available in a multitude of colors – but, in lacquered metal, in contrast to the original enameled ones.
They were produced with white inner shade and red or black outer shade or all in brass lacquer or aluminum lacquer.
