About the design

This P-Hat is the large version of Poul Henningsen’s (PH) famous wall lamp, designed in 1961 and produced by Louis Poulsen.

A rounded spun steel shade with white wet lacquered outside and the most delicate rose color inside, held by an arm centered on a round wall mount. The shade is able to tilt upwards and downwards for easy control of light direction. The arm extending from the wall mounting plate. The bulb mount features an incorporated black on/off switch.

Though out his life it became a mission for Poul Henningsen to create and perfect “the glare-free light” – excluding sharp direct light emittance from the bulb, and directing the light to where it’s needed, and at the same time casting off soft shadows.
The aim of P-HAT was to design a wall lamp that could be used as bedside lighting but also have other applications.

The delicate rose colored inside creates a warm and soft ambiance while the adjustable shade directs the light where you need it. A beautiful wall lamp with endless uses in the modern home – as bedside lighting, lighting up in a hallway, stairway or a passageway space.

The P-hat was also produced in a smaller version measuring 8.9″ (22,5 cm) in diameter.
